VNH to implement the entrusted contract of helicopter purchase and cooperation in training for pilots of Vietnam People’s Navy

On December 25, 2011, a handover ceremony of two EC 225 helicopters took place at Vung Tau Airport between Vietnam Helicopter and the Vietnam People’s Navy, simultaneously with the announcement of the establishment of announcing the EC225 Helicopter Squadron under the General Staff of Vietnam People’s Navy.


Admiral Nguyen Van Hien - member of Central Party Committee - Vice Minister of Defense - Commander of Vietnam People’s Navy, Lieutenant General Tran Quang Khue - Deputy Chief of General Staff and representatives of related departments of the Vietnam People’s Navy attended the ceremony. Attendees on VNH side included Major General Ha Tien Dung - Chairman cum General Director, representatives of VNH North, VNH South and members of the team in partnership and cooperation with Vietnam People’s Navy. The ceremony was witnessed by representatives of Air Defense – Air Force, Military Zones 7 and 9, local authorities and CAAV.

"The management and protection of Vietnam sovereignty on coastal islands, continental shelf, exclusive economic zones are sacred tasks, in which Naval Forces form the core", Admiral Nguyen Van Hien affirmed at the ceremony. He also expressed his sincere thanks to Vietnam Helicopter Corporation for helping the Navy in the implementation of the entrusted contract two EC 225 helicopters procurement to meet the crucial need of national security and defense of the Naval Forces.


Major General Ha Tien Dung – Chairman  & CEO of VNH also expressed profound gratitude for the trust of Naval Forces in VNH."The units  directly working with the Navy always cooperate with good faith and the best efforts to help the Navy to efficiently exploit two EC225 helicopters to ensure the security and defense purposes." he  stressed.


At the end of the ceremony, the Squadron successfully performed two demonstration flights, carrying delegates to visit Vung Tau.
