The People Armay Online – In the middle of 2009, the Southern Helicopter Company of Viet Nam Helicopter Corporation, Ministry of National defense will own and put into operation the helicopter EC 225, 19 seats, one of the most modern helicopters in the world specializing in offshore petroleum activities…
It is the major content in the Contract signing ceremony between the Southern Helicopter Company and Eurocopter South East Asia PTE Ltd., held in Hanoi on late December the 12th with the witness of representatives from related agencies such as Ministry of National Defense, Flight Service Corporation and Mr. G.Michepier, President of Eurocopter South East Asia PTE Ltd.
Apart from that contract, since 2002, Viet Nam Helicopter Corporation has purchased 7 helicopters of Eurocopter including two of EC 155 and five of AS 332 to satisfy the growing demand of service flights. Aside from the domestic market, the Corporation has also contracts overseas such as Norway, Malaysia and India.
According to officials, this is a reasonable contract. Eurocopter commits to train pilots in a double times and a high quantity of technical staffs for the Southern Helicopter Company. Furthermore, Eurocopter will send experts to Viet Nam to support in 6 months after transferring helicopters for the Viet Nam partner, instead of 3 months in the past.
Evaluating about the crew and machine engineers of Viet Nam Helicopter Corporation, Mr. G.Michepier said: “They are basically well-trained officiers with a good knowledge about aviation and long-term experience and working professionally. The thousands of hour flight time of the Corporation’s pilots in many kinds of Eurocopter helicopter is a very clear evidence. And it is also the reason we want to intensify cooperation with Viet Nam Helicopter Corporation.
