Major-General Ha Tien Dung accompanying the Prime Minister on the special flight to attend the Opening ceremony of Son La Hydropower Station
At 8:25 AM on 23rd December, 02 VIP flights by Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company (Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, Ministry of Defense) took off from Gia Lam Airport to take the government delegation headed by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to attend the Opening Ceremony of Son La hydropower station. The Prime Minister is accompanied by former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.
The delegation members included Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Minister,Chairman of Office of Government; Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, Minister of Construction; Mr. Bui Quang Vinh, Minister of Planning and Investment; Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Nguyen Bac Son, Minister of Information and Communications; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of Defense; Lt. Gen. To Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Performing the special flight on the EC-155B1 helicopter are level 1 pilots: Colonel Do Xuan Hoa, Deputy Director of the Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company and Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quang Tuan. The MI-171 crew consisted of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Toan, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Thuong and Colonel Cao Tien Nhat.
As a military business simultaneously performing the economic and defense missions, in 2012, the Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company has organized flights for VIP transport, national defense andsecurity, search and rescuing with high performance results. Particularly, last October, the company's crews successfully rescued 35 people on a rig drifted due to Strom No.8, then flew nearly 100 hours of technical assistance for rig and awarded the Merit by National Committee for Search and Rescue.
The Company ended the the year 2012 with 112% of annual flight plan with the highest degree of safety.
