Helicopter rescued 80 people on oil platform
The storm No.7 had caused vast destruction on the South China Sea and threatened human life on ENI oil platform (261 nm east from Quang Binh beach). On 13th August 2013, the Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company responsively made up emergency plan and appointed 2 helicopters with 4 crews to perform 8 continuous flights during 5 hours for timely rescue of 80 people on the oil rig.
Many of ENI’s staff are foreigners
At 17.00, all of 80 ENI’s staff were safely transported to Dong Hoi City Airport. VNH North successfully completed the mission without any loss of human life and properties.
